Who ever said a mid-sized soled design can’t be forgiving? The slim profile was carefully selected based on feedback accumulated over years from numerous golfers who didn’t want to have that chunky appearance when setting the club behind the ball. Yet these very same players still demanded all the most modern game-improvement features at their disposal to help them lower their scores. The non-glare topline to the generous offsets allow the majority of today’s players to hit both solid and straight shots to inspire confidence in their game. The Standard Acer XK model could soon be the standard in the industry. Manufactured from 431 stainless steel.
Meet the latest generation of Acer drivers loaded with many added features to improve the game of a wide range of players. First they focused on the face technology by offering a variable face thickness, cup-face design. While it is easy to provide for the maximum allowable performance on center shots, the difference of a premium club is the ability to provide near perfect results with less than perfect shots. The cup-face moves the welds away from the corners of the head to provide a thinner, more active face to maximize ball speed on the off-center shots. The variable face thickness further reduces the wall thickness around the perimeter of the impact area so the entire club face becomes a gigantic sweet spot. Now off-center or miss-hits will launch the ball directly down the fairway like you perfectly struck the ball in the center of the face. The shape of the head was carefully selected to appeal to the eye of a wide range of golfers, yet improve stability by expanding the front-to back dimension. The center of gravity moves lower and further from the face to optimize launch conditions.
Finally, an innovative stainless steel fairway series that allows total game management by offering lofts to suit a player’s individual needs! There are three important technological features that make these higher performance clubs. First, they incorporated a variable face thickness to reduce the perimeter area of the impact area so the entire club face could be more active. This acts to increase the area of forgiveness over a larger portion of the face. Secondly, the crowns are constructed with exclusive VCT (variable crown technology) and measure as little as 0.5mm thick. All the unwanted weight normally reserved for the crown was repositioned deep within the head. Lastly, the wide profile increases the Moment of Inertia. All these features provide for a high launching ball flight with incredible accuracy. Versatility is another word to describe the Acer XK fairway woods. Multiple lofts are offered including those not commonly found, from a strong 3-wood for players who have no problem getting the ball airborne to a high-lofted 9-wood.

Ordering Process and Shipping
Once you place your order for your custom golf clubs with Custom Golf Stop, we will email a Custom Specifications Info Sheet requesting the specifications for your golf clubs. This will include the length, shaft flex and grip size. Once we receive payment and your custom fitting details we can start building your clubs and ship them within 2-3 business days unless, an item is not in stock then 3-5 business days. Transit via UPS is anywhere from 2-6 business days. We supply a UPS tracking number for your package. In the rare event of a backordered product, we will notify you immediately.

Starting last year I decided that during the winter I was going to hit golf balls into a net down in my basement for a minimum of 15 minutes per day to stay prepared for the next season. I bought a mat for $59 thinking that this mat, which was fairly thick would serve me for several years and give me a fairly true feel of hitting the ball from the fairway. The first problem was with that much use the mat started coming apart and I had to replace it the first winter. The second problem was that I could not tell when I hit the ball fat because the mat unlike natural turf allowed the club to slide across it. Your mat allowed me to feel when I hit the ball fat because it slowed down my club much like natural turf. I can also hit down on the ball with your mat without worrying about damaging the mat. HOW THE GROOVE SHARPENER WORKS
FACTORY-FRESH, Most new wedges will help you stop a ball quickly. But independent tests show that after 100 or more shots with two-piece balls, traditional wedge grooves suffer a significant loss of stopping power and back spin.
The GROOVE SHARPENER works by removing bent or rolled over metal that has collapsed in the groove of your club. The removal of this rolled over material creates a sharpened leading edge of your groove for the ball to engage. The GROOVE SHARPENER also work by cleaning your grooves to create a better channel for water to disperse from the club face. This will greatly increase your backspin on shots from the rough. When you are hitting from the rough the grass gets trapped between the ball and the club face causing the water from the grass to squeeze out. With out clean groove the water has no place to go it causing the ball to hydroplane up the face of the club, creating very little or no backspin. With clean grooves the water will displace out the sides of the grooves and the ball will engage the grooves.
The GROOVE SHARPENER is made of heat treated tool steel (A-2) which measures a hardness of 61 Rockwell. Because the tool is so hard it will not loose its cutting edge like other groove tools. The GROOVE SHARPENER is designed to remove rolled over metal from the side of the groove which produces the sharp edge.
The GROOVE SHARPENER can be used on either end. It has two different cutting ends, one end has a U end that measures .020 of a inch and the other side has a V shaped groove . You can cut a U shaped groove or a V shaped groove. Instructions on how to use the tool will be sent with the tool. The GROOVE SHARPENER meets the new specifiactions for groove shape and conforms to the latest ruling on golf grooves as set forth by the USGA and R&A for 2010.

This set was purchased as 3-PW in August of 2006. At that time Ping was still lasering serial numbers. Later the UW SW and LW were added with matching serial numbers in October of 2008 when they stamped the serial numbers on. I have pictures of the different style of serials. This set is being sold as the 5-PW+UW as the other clubs are no longer with the set. The shaft bands have been removed but have been verified as CS Lite Regular flex.
